Whilst most street photography focuses on capturing the decisive moment of people within public places, sometime if we take a moment to look closer, we will see that perhaps a better approach is life within public places. In this damp alley in the rougher side of downtown Sydney, this small fern sprouts forth from between the bricks of the decaying brick wall. This image really speaks to me as it shows that despite all the odds, the location and the circumstances, the lust for life and the will to survive will always overcome adversity. This is an image of motivation and hope and can really speak to us souls who exist within the daily grind of the city scape.
